A large e-commerce company, with rapid business expansion, found its existing data center unable to meet its growing data processing and storage needs. Therefore, the company decided to build a new data center, covering 5,000 square meters and hosting 5,000 servers. These core businesses, including the e-commerce trading platform, logistics management system, and customer service system, require not only 24/7 uninterrupted operation but also extremely stringent requirements for power supply stability and reliability. For example, during e-commerce promotions, momentary power fluctuations or outages can lead to significant order losses and transaction interruptions, resulting in significant financial losses and reputational damage to the company. Therefore, the new data center required a robust and reliable UPS room to ensure a reliable power supply.

Equipment Selection and Configuration
Transformer Selection: After detailed power demand calculation and analysis, two SCB10 2500kVA dry-type transformers were selected for this project. These two transformers are highly efficient and energy-efficient, with no-load losses as low as 1.4kW and load losses of 13.9kW at 75°C, effectively reducing long-term operating costs. Their rated capacity is 2500kVA, meeting the data center’s current and expected growth in power demand. They feature three phases, a 10kV input voltage, and a 0.4kV output voltage, ensuring optimal compatibility with the mains and back-end equipment. These transformers were selected for their high reliability and stability, adapting to the complex power environment of data centers. Furthermore, dry-type transformers require no oil cooling, reducing fire hazards and meeting the stringent safety requirements of data centers.

Power Distribution Cabinet Selection: A 10-panel MNS series MNS Low-Voltage Withdrawable Switchgear was selected for the power distribution cabinet. With a rated current of up to 6300A, this series of switchgear can meet the power needs of large-scale equipment. Its high short-circuit breaking capacity of 150kA effectively handles short-circuit faults and ensures safe operation of the power system. The rational internal layout facilitates installation and maintenance. Furthermore, it is equipped with an intelligent monitoring module that can monitor voltage, current, power, and other parameters in real time, and upload the data to the monitoring system via a communication interface, enabling remote monitoring and management.
