The price and capacity of dry-type transformers are usually related. Generally, the larger the capacity, the higher the price. The reasons are as follows:
1. Material cost
The amount of winding materials used increases: The larger the capacity of the dry-type transformer, the greater the current its winding needs to carry. In order to ensure the performance and safety of the transformer, more winding materials, such as copper wire or aluminum wire, need to be used. The price of copper wire is relatively high. Although the price of aluminum wire is slightly lower, the increase in the amount of use will also significantly increase the cost.
The core size and material requirements increase: As the capacity increases, the size of the core also needs to increase accordingly to provide sufficient magnetic flux. At the same time, in order to reduce the core loss, higher quality and more expensive silicon steel sheet materials may be required, which will lead to an increase in the cost of the core.
2. Manufacturing cost
The difficulty of the production process increases: The production process of large-capacity dry-type transformers is more complicated, and higher technical levels and stricter quality control are required in winding, assembly, insulation treatment and other links to ensure the performance and safety of the transformer. This may require more skilled workers, more advanced production equipment and more production time, which increases labor costs and equipment costs.
Increased testing and testing costs: Large-capacity transformers need to undergo more rigorous and comprehensive testing and testing before leaving the factory, such as withstand voltage tests, short-circuit tests, etc., to ensure their quality and reliability. These tests and tests require the use of special equipment and instruments, which increases the testing costs.
3. Transportation and installation costs
Increased transportation difficulty: Large-capacity dry-type transformers are usually large in size and weight. Special transportation tools and equipment, such as large flatbed trucks, cranes, etc., are required during transportation, and special transportation permits and escorts may be required, which will significantly increase transportation costs.
Increased installation difficulty and costs: The installation of large-capacity transformers requires more professional technicians and more auxiliary equipment, such as large lifting equipment, mounting brackets, etc. The installation process is more complicated and the installation costs will increase accordingly.
4. Market supply and demand relationship
In the market, the demand for large-capacity dry-type transformers is relatively small, and the production capacity and output of manufacturers are relatively limited, resulting in an imbalance between supply and demand. When the market demand for large-capacity dry-type transformers increases, the price may rise due to the relatively insufficient supply; conversely, when the demand decreases, the price may fall, but in general, the price of large-capacity transformers will still be higher than that of small-capacity transformers.
